Why ODMERA started
ODMERA started the way most useful things do: out of frustration with something ordinary.
Anyone who's ended up as "the organiser" knows the feeling: chasing opinions across three group chats, trying to remember who said they'd pay for what, and still missing something important. At one of our own weddings, after what felt like careful planning, two guests were missed off a table entirely. A small mistake, easy to avoid with the right tool, but invisible until it was too late.
That's the gap ODMERA was built to close. Not another group chat, and not another spreadsheet, but one place where the group can see where things stand: what's been decided, who's coming, who's staying where and what's still open.
Even the name is personal, made from the names of the people behind it. ODMERA is still early, shaped by the people testing it and the real weekends away, nights out and get-togethers it's used for.
